NAPERVILLE–Marilyn Dale has been inducted as a Signature Member of The National Association of Women Artists (NAWA), an organization that has supported and promoted women artists for over a century. This distinction honors her artistic achievements and contributions across multiple disciplines.

Dale's work spans both abstract and representational painting, with a career that includes multimedia and figurative works, as well as large-scale liturgical installations in fabric and stained glass. Her pieces have been featured in numerous juried exhibitions, most recently at the Vanda Gallery in New Rochelle, NY, and two shows at the historic Salmagundi Club Gallery in Greenwich Village, New York.

Since induction as a Signature Member in late 2024, Dale has been accepted to participate in three NAWA juried exhibitions. Her featured piece in Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories, entitled We Never Surrender, is a multimedia portrait of her grandmother, a young widowed mother of five who worked in a sweatshop sewing men's shoes from 1920 to 1970 to support her family. Through layered textures and bold composition, Dale captures the perseverance and strength of working women.

Dale's recent inclusion in three juried shows at the Salmagundi Club—one of the oldest art organizations in the United States—further solidifies her presence in the national art scene. Founded in 1871, the club has long provided a respected platform for artists to showcase their work.

Currently, Dale is working on a new series based on letters exchanged between her parents during World War II while her father served in the Pacific Theater. This deeply personal project, which also includes photos and drawings, continues her exploration of history, memory, and human resilience through art.

NAWA, established in 1889, continues to offer opportunities for women artists to exhibit, network, and gain recognition in the art world. Dale's status as a Signature Member places her among a distinguished group of artists dedicated to advancing women's presence in the arts.
