KidsMatter 'Make Kindness Count' Campaign Seeking 1,000 Stories of Kindness

KidsMatter Make Kindness Count kindness Campaign aims to collect 1,000 stories of how YOU put kindness into action

NAPERVILLE — How do you put kindness into action? This year’s Make Kindness Count campaign wants to find out.

Through the end of March, this annual campaign — hosted by KidsMatter and the Collaborative Youth Team of Illinois (a coalition of more than 36 youth-serving organizations and agencies) — is seeking 1,000 experiences that illustrate how members of our community build each other up through kindness. Then, we’ll share these stories to celebrate the amazing people who Make Kindness Count.

“When we all adopt the approach that ‘kindness begins with me,’ we can take actions to be kind within our families, schools, faith groups and communities,” said Nina Menis, CEO & Executive Director of KidsMatter. “We’re excited to invite everyone to share stories of how they’ve been kind and how they’re taking action to build community and belonging.”

Kindness begins with each of us, and it begins with an action — any positive, gracious, inclusive, welcoming or selfless action you can imagine. How have you shown kindness? How has your kindness positively affected another person? Our Make Kindness Count story submission form seeks all the wonderful details to learn how you’ve applied kindness in the lives of those around you.

Streetlight banners reminding everyone to Make Kindness Count are up throughout downtown Naperville, and our campaign is well underway, with special thanks to Angelic Kindness Charity, Captivating Signs and the City of Naperville.
