NAPERVILLE | Pre-Trial Release Denied for Indiana Man in Possession of Machine Gun at Top Golf

"Public Safety is a Top Priority" – The Naperville Police Department and the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office Released a Joint Statement Today

WHEATON— On September 30 Naperville police officers spotted gun inside a Chevy Cruze while routinely patrolling the area. A short time later, Jalen Littleton returned to the vehicle and at that time Naperville police officers immediately activated their emergency lights and boxed in Littleton’s vehicle. It is alleged that when officers searched Littleton’s vehicle, they found a fully-loaded Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine, a laser sight and an auto switch that enables the weapon to fire fully automatic when engaged. Littleton, who does not possess a valid FOID or CCL, was taken into custody at that time. “Public safety is the top priority of my office and the allegation that Mr. Littleton unlawfully possessed an extremely dangerous, fully-loaded gun capable of firing as a machine gun, at a family-friendly entertainment facility is outrageous,” Berlin said.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Naperville Chief of Police Jason Arres announced today that Judge Joshua Dieden granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for an Indiana man who was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded machine gun at a Naperville recreation facility. Jalen Littleton, 19, (d.o.b. 9/28/2004) of the 3700 block of Towle Avenue, Hammond, appeared at First Appearance Court this morning charged with one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Machine Gun, a Class X Felony. Littleton’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 16, 2023, for arraignment in front of Judge Brian Telander.
