MOM'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK | Summer Fun at Fox Hollow River Tubing

Updated: Feb 20, 2025

RELAXING RIVER FLOAT

I am so excited to be on a #MomsLittleBlackBook outdoor adventure this month. Coming out of quarantine, this felt like a much-anticipated road trip as we headed southwest following the Fox River’s pathway through Kendall County. Miles of open fields surrounded us as we passed silos, horses, and corn. We felt a million miles from home; yet were only 45 minutes from our destination.

Fox Hollow River Tubing is in a primitive rustic setting which brings back childhood memories of simpler times. We signed in and boarded the bus which took us several miles from home base to the launch site located inside Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort. From there we were given our tubes and ropes to design our preferred floating station for our group. I went with three teenagers, so we chose to put our cooler float in the center and tie our tubes at each corner for easy access to drinks, lunch, and snacks.

From that point, it was nothing but pure relaxing, good conversation, great music, and sunshine for the next 2.5 hours as we floated down the river with no cares in the world. You can stop on the islands at any point, drop in at the Last Resort Bar for a refresher, or simply stay in your tube and throw your cares to the wind.

This is an all-ages activity, and since you can pack your own coolers, it becomes an extremely affordable activity for the whole family or your posse of friends!

Pack your water shoes, bring your sunscreen, and get ready for the perfect summer escape!
