MASKS FOR MUTUAL GROUND | Local Shop Donates $2/Mask to Help Fight Domestic Violence

Updated: May 28, 2020

SUGAR GROVE BOUTIQUE GIVES BACK WITH ESSENTIALLY CHIC FACE MASK COLLECTION

Last month Gov Pritzker began talking about the possibility of wearing face masks as he started to put together a 5-phase plan for restoring the state of Illinois after a state-wide 'Shelter in Place' was mandated in late March. At the same time he reported this possibility, the CDC went public about how masks would be helpful in the effort to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

Urban Echo Shop acted fast and started offering their Essentially Chic mask collection to so their customers could be prepared once the mandate went into effect. In just two weeks, close to 200 stylish masks were sold with $2/mask donated to Mutual Ground, a local organization that works to fight the effects of domestic and sexual abuse.

In early-May, the Governor indeed moved forward, putting a a mandate in place for residents to wear a mask while out and about in the community at times when 6ft social distancing is not possible. This mandate remains in place as Phase-3 nears for the state, allowing many more businesses to reopen including salons and restaurants.

The online shop, based out of Sugar Grove, Illinois plans to send their next donation in a couple weeks and is actively selling its mask collection which includes unique prints; floral, patriotic, leopard, tie die, camouflage, snakeskin, and more. Plain black is also still available which are sized perfectly for teens, as well as gray camouflage and colorful tie die for little kids. Masks are $18.95 each and can be purchased online at www.urbanechoshop.com. The site offers FREE SHIPPING with packages mailing out first class daily from Sugar Grove. Porch drop-off available for Sugar Grove.
