Meet Holly O'Donnell, Author of Fiercely Confident

Holly O’Donnell is on a mission to ignite confidence and connection, and her latest book, Fiercely Confident, is the spark that’s lighting the way for parents and kids alike.

With a background in leadership training and communication development, Holly has spent years teaching adults how to build stronger connections. But one simple conversation with a mom friend changed everything—she realized the tools she shared with professionals could dramatically help parents and their children, especially during the rollercoaster years of middle school. From that revelation, Fiercely Confident was born.

At its heart, the book is a framework designed to inspire reflection and spark meaningful conversations between parents and kids. Holly wants readers to walk away with a renewed sense of resilience, confidence, and enthusiasm—traits that go far beyond middle school challenges. With themes of inclusion and self-discovery, the book is a resourceful and insightful guide for families navigating these formative years.

Holly describes the writing process as a whirlwind of inspiration, with stories and truths flowing from her experiences and everyday interactions. Whether brainstorming during walks in the park or jotting down notes after moments with her daughter, she found joy in seeing the book take shape. We asked Holly who her biggest supporters were during the writing process and she shared that it was her husband and sister.

As far as who Holly would cast if Fiercely Confident were made into a movie, she shared that it would be Rachel McAdams as a mom, because she was amazing in “Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret.” For the child, she would cast her own daughter as herself and some of her theater friends.

Looking ahead, Holly plans to expand her message with Fiercely Motivated, a sequel focused on sparking momentum and ambition in life. With her daughter co-authoring, this dynamic duo promises even more inspiration for readers. Stay tuned—Holly isn’t slowing down!
