Last Chance to See the Unique Human+Nature Attraction In Lisle
LISLE–Over the last two years, Human+Nature has combined the serenity of nature and the beauty of art through eight large-scale expressive sculptures. Bringing visitors to places at The Morton Arboretum that they may not have explored before, it encouraged them to rethink their relationships with trees, and inspired deep connections to the natural world. Plan your visit now to view all of the sculptures, reflect upon their meaning, and make your own personal connections with nature before they leave at the end of February.
Using this map as your guide, venture to the West Side to take in Heartwood, between P19 and P20. This towering face is split in half with rings on either side: one half of the sculpture represents a tree’s heartwood, the inner layers of rings at its center; while the other side is of a human fingerprint, symbolizing how people and nature are connected. Travel further along to see Basilica, near P22. This 28-foot-wide sculpture of two hands joined by intertwining roots is meant to show how the conservation and restoration work the Arboretum does depends on many people, both locally and globally. This one-of-a-kind exhibition is leaving the Arboretum at the end of the month. Don't miss your last chance to experience Human+Nature again, or for the first time, with your family and friends.
