LISLE | Bond Set at $100,000 for Lisle Man Accused of Beating His Pregnant Girlfriend

MOTHER OF THE VICTIM CALLED POLICE

A domestic violence situation occurred in Lisle when a woman who is 5-months pregnant was beaten by her boyfriend.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Lisle Chief of Police Kevin Licko announced that bond has been set for a Lisle man accused of beating his girlfriend who is five-months pregnant. Donald White, 26 (d.o.b. 1/3/1997) of the 2200 block of Abbeywood Drive, appeared at a bond hearing this morning where Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh set bond at $100,000 with 10% to apply. White is charged with one count of Aggravated Domestic Battery (Class 2 Felony) and one count of Aggravated Battery – Pregnant or Physically Handicapped (Class 3 Felony).

It is alleged that on May 1, 2023, at approximately 12:51 p.m., White arrived at the apartment the couple share and shortly thereafter began beating his girlfriend. It is alleged that White punched her in the head, threw her to the ground and dragged her to the living room. It is further alleged that while the victim was on the ground, White struck her multiple times about her head and body. It is alleged that during the beating, the victim suffered a fractured left ulna, fractured left clavicle and a dislocated shoulder. A short time later, after being alerted to the alleged beating by the victim’s mother, Lisle police officers arrived at the apartment and took White into custody.

“There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for the type of violent behavior alleged against Mr. White,” Berlin said.

“There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for the type of violent behavior alleged against Mr. White,” Berlin said. “What I find particularly troubling in this case is that the victim is currently in her fifth month of pregnancy. I thank the Lisle Police Department for their efforts in this case as well as Assistant State’s Attorney Christina Kye for her work in securing charges against Mr. White.”

“Domestic violence can happen to anyone; in this case, it impacted both a woman and her unborn child, said Lisle Police Chief Kevin Licko. “I want to commend our officers for their excellent work and thank State’s Attorney Bob Berlin and his staff for bringing felony charges against Mr. White for his alleged actions.”

White’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 31, 2023, for arraignment in front of Judge O’Hallaren Walsh.

Members of the public are reminded that these complaints contain only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
