HOTEL NEWS | Best Western Oswego Completes $1 Million Renovation

NEW, MODERN LOOK FOR THE UPDATED HOTEL

OSWEGO—The Best Western Oswego Hotel, located at 2055 Wiesbrook Drive in Oswego, Illinois, has completed a full interior and exterior renovation, just in time for the reopening of Illinois travel, events, and activities to full capacity.

The investment in the hotel began shortly before the pandemic hit Illinois, said hotel manager Anita Patel.

“We used our time wisely during the pandemic to continue the renovation and now we’re ready to welcome guests as travel resumes in the region,” said Patel.

The cost of the renovation totaled over $1 million, with updates to the hotel’s exterior, as well as interior upgrades to the lobby and all 64 guest rooms, including 15 suites.

“We installed new bedding, new carpeting, new window treatments, and even new artwork in the rooms,” said Patel.

“Overall, the hotel now has a more modern, updated look. It is pleasing to the eye, clean and sleek, and it does have a bit of a ‘wow’ factor that it didn’t have before.”

The guest rooms now feature Serta mattresses and modern window treatments in line with hotel trends toward more upscale decor at affordable price points.

Additional renovations were made to the lobby, which now features an enhanced breakfast space, all new cabinets and countertops, additional seating, and two large communal tables with outlets for workspace.

“Functional space was really important to us in the renovation,” said Patel. “With the workforce going remote in so many areas, it’s not just corporate guests who benefit from having a comfortable place to catch up on work.”

The fitness center at Best Western Oswego also received an upgrade in the form of new equipment. The meeting room, with capacity for 40 attendees, was treated with new wallpaper, carpeting, and furniture. The hotel pool is open and available for guests, making the Best Western Oswego a great option for family travel and staycations.

Patel also credits proximity to Stuart Sports Complex and destination wedding venues as an advantage for the hotel. The Best Western Oswego is the closest hotel to Stuart Sports Complex, the fourth-largest outdoor athletic complex in the country. Nearby wedding venues include Ashley Farms, Bear Cave Lake, Emerson Creek, North Fork Farms, and Whitetail Ridge Golf Club.

“We see the uptick in sales when Stuart Sports Complex is active,” said Patel. “We’re happy to partner with the Fox Valley Park District and Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau on housing guests for youth and amateur sporting events at Stuart, and with our partner wedding and event venues in Oswego, Yorkville, and the Aurora area.”

The Oswego Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand re-opening of the Best Western Oswego Hotel on Thursday, June 24th. For more information on the Best Western Oswego Hotel, visit bestwestern.com/oswegohotel.
