HELP PACK DURING HARVEST WEEK | Food Pantry Needs Extra Help Packing Food & Books November 10

Naperville Sunrise Rotary seeks Help Packing West Suburban Community Pantry Shelves with Food and Books for Holidays During Harvest Week

NAPERVILLE–With the holidays approaching, Naperville Sunrise Rotary will assist West Suburban Community Pantry in packing the Pantry with foods families need as well as books for children from infants to age 18 during their annual Harvest Week Drive on Friday November 10, from 8-10 am in front of Naperville Country Club, 25w570 Chicago Ave., Naperville

“We served nearly 70% more people last year,” says Pantry CEO Suzanne Armato. “With the holidays being our busiest time of year, we need our communities’ help to ensure that everyone can enjoy the sense of warmth and security that we all seek during the holiday season.”

The Pantry is hoping the community can rally to help provide their most requested foods and foods that are hard to source. “In addition to shelf-stable holidays foods, our customers want items that help them make a delicious full meal – items like spices, salad dressing, condiments, rice, and beans. Also, pantry staples like canned chicken and tuna, and low sugar canned fruit or low sodium canned vegetables—items that are harder to source help us meet our customers’ special dietary needs and mean we can offer quality protein,” says Paul Matsushima Director of Pantry Operations.

Sunrise Rotary Community Service Chair Deb Newman says the annual drive is a way Rotarians and community members alike can support neighbors in need. “The Pantry is committed to the overall well-being of families,” she says. “In addition to foods most needed, we will welcome new books to feed the spirit of children, young adults and families and nurture family time reading together, during the holidays and throughout the year.”

Club volunteers will be standing by in front of the Country Club. All donations will be delivered to the Pantry at its Seven Bridges Woodridge location. Donations can also be dropped off at the Pantry at 6809 Hobson Valley Drive Unit 118, Woodridge Monday through Friday from 8 am- 4 pm.
