MEET CHIP DELORENZO OF NAPERVILLE
Although professional photographer, Chip DeLorenzo of Chipshots Sports Photography in Naperville has not been actively trying to document the uncertainty of these times, he captured the pure joy and love between a team and a coach during a surprise birthday car parade hosted by Kate Chelios for her husband, Coach Chris Chelios of the Naperville Sabres u16 and u18 teams.
Chip’s son Ithan plays for Coach Chelios and was thrilled to meet his teammates and their families at Northwest Community Park in Plainfield to coordinate a car parade of beeping horns, giant posters, and plenty of smiles to surprise their beloved hockey coach.
“Chris smiled the entire time - he was obviously happy and surprised, but I could tell that also he was touched and moved that so many of his hockey family showed up for him to celebrate his birthday during quarantine,” Chip shares.
Sports photography has always been a passion for Chip because it provides him with the opportunity to capture an emotion or a special moment in time for someone, that might otherwise be lost forever. This is just yet another, “frozen moment in time”.
