BUSINESS | St. Charles Park District Employee Receives National Recognition - Taylor Krawczyk
IPRA Past Chair Andrew Thurman presents Taylor Krawczyk of the St. Charles Park District with the prestigious Young Professional of the Year Award

Congratulations to Taylor Krawczyk of the St. Charles Park District

Assistant Superintendent of Recreation Taylor Krawczyk of the St. Charles Park District was recently honored with the Illinois Park & Recreation Association’s (IPRA) Young Professional of the Year Award for her commitment and excellent service to parks and recreation. Ms. Krawczyk was recognized during the annual Soaring to New Height Conference, held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

The IPRA Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes an up-and-coming leader in the field of parks and recreation, is given to an individual with less than eight years of experience, and someone who shows a great deal of promise in becoming a future leader in the field.

“Taylor’s unwavering commitment to innovation and her dedication to the parks and recreation field perfectly embody the qualities celebrated by this prestigious honor,” said Mike Kies, Superintendent of Recreation.

"On behalf of IPRA, I would like to extend my congratulations to Taylor for being recognized by her peers with this award. Her dedication to her team and to the profession is admirable and we look forward to her future contributions to the field,” said Suzi Wirtz, IPRA Executive Director.

From her beginnings as a recreation intern then full-time supervisor to her current role as Assistant Superintendent of Recreation, Taylor is an integral part of our management team. She’s advanced youth programming, fostered community engagement and championed inclusion. Notably, her guidance implementing sensory-friendly options across the district’s programs exemplifies her passion for creating equitable and welcoming spaces for all. Taylor’s vision and initiative were recently showcased by creating a highly successful event named Pickle Paradise. It definitely was a BIG DILL!

“Taylor’s genuine demeanor and impactful leadership skills allow the St. Charles Park District to achieve a high team member retention rate and an outstanding employee morale,” added Kies.
