TALENTED ARTIST USES HIS ART TO MINISTER AND SPREAD MESSAGES OF PEACE, LOVE AND FAITH
Chicago mural artist, Milton Coronado, started expressing his art when he was in high school through street graffiti, although he admits that it was not always legal. His passion led him to the American Academy of Art in downtown Chicago where he earned a BFA in Illustration and Design. Now, you can find Milt’s colorful spray-painted murals legally beautifying all kinds of walls and city streets to express themes on a large scale.
Through his studies, he also pursued education and theology. Milt decided he wanted to use his art to minister and spread messages of peace, love and faith. He has honored many people on his walls and has been a large contributor to the recent murals of racial unity and boarded-up storefronts.A few months ago, a mural went up in the city of a nurse with a message to stay home.“Some of the most emotionally powerful walls I have created are the memorial walls of someone who tragically died,” says Milt.“It becomes a tremendous healing component for a community.”
