‘TIS THE SEASON TO HELP THOSE IN NEED

The greatest gift of the season is that of giving back to others through the gift of time, a car, clothes, food, financial assistance, our presence, and so much more.

The gift of kindness, to someone that may be not used to receiving love, can be shared through NAMI DuPage in Wheaton whose mission is to provide support, advocacy and education in order to improve the quality of life of individuals with mental illnesses and their families. NAMI DuPage relies on the remarkable generosity of the community for operational and program support. www.namidupage.org/give-to-nami-dupage/ways-to-give/

It begins with our children and playing builds strong brains, strong bonds, and a bright future. Consider a donation to DuPage Children's Museum (DCM) in Naperville to help Keep the Play Growing! Funds raised go towards new exhibits, programs, and important community outreach that makes the Museum accessible to all. www.dupagechildrens.org/give

Every kid deserves a chance to ride and play and you can support Project Mobility in St. Charles and their Holiday Adaptive Bike Give Away by participating in one of their fundraiser rides www.projectmobility.org/copy-of-events or food events www.projectmobility.org/ thirdpartyfundraisingevents and help keep Riley’s dream of amazing gifts under the tree alive!

Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation (CCWF) in Geneva mission is for every child and adolescent to be supported in positive development by caregivers and professionals within loving, non-violent families and peaceful communities. Through parent groups and educational workshops, they strive to promote a sense of community and foster empathy. This season, you can support them by attending a fundraising event, donating, or volunteering your time.

During this time of year, it’s more important than ever to help prevent homelessness and hunger in the western suburbs of the Chicago-land area and SARET Charitable Fund in Wheaton provides hope when hope seems impossible. They restore dignity to individuals or families facing a current economic and life crisis and the organization seeks creative tools to help move families toward economic stability. Give the gift of dignity by contacting www.saret.org

All in all, this holiday season, make a difference in your community and connect on common grounds with friends like those that started The Courtyard in Hinsdale with their love of interior design and their desire to help others. This dedicated group of volunteers created a place to purchase previously-owned, high-quality furniture and home accessories while supporting The Wellness House and those affected by cancer.
