FAVORITED NAPERVILLE EVENT RETURN FOR 2019–

Farmers Market opens June 6; Movies begin June 7

The Naperville Park District is bringing back two events that were new in 2018: the 95th Street Farmers Market, opening Thursday, June 6 and A Night at the Movies, beginning Friday, June 7.

After a successful first season in 2018, Naperville Park District and the 95th Street Library are partnering again to host the 95th Street Farmers Market, presented by FBC Remodel. The Market will be held on Thursdays from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the 95th Street Library, located at 3015 Cedar Glade Drive in Naperville. The Market opens June 6 and continues through September 26. Please note that the Market will not be held on Thursday, July 4.

In addition to locally grown fruits and vegetables, other food items for sale include baked goods, olive oil, sauces, guacamole, pecans, organic meat, eggs, jam, honey and snacks. Nonfood items include flowers, plants, dishes, signs, pillows, soap, skincare products, candles and cutting boards.

“We are pleased to welcome new vendors and delighted that many of our 2018 vendors are returning,” said Andrea Coates, superintendent of recreation for the Park District. “Each business offers something unique and the vendors are more than happy to answer questions and explain more about their products.”

The Park District is highlighting vendor stories in its ParkTalk Blog this summer. For example, read about Windy Acres Farm at https://www.napervilleparks.org/news/parktalkblog/95th-street-farmers-market-vendor-story-windy-acres-farm.

Also returning after its 2018 debut is A Night at the Movies, a series of family-friendly movies in the park, with the location alternating between Rotary Hill and Frontier Sports Complex. Movies will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. for all dates except September 13, which will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. Movies, dates and locations are as follows:

  • June 7 – “Christopher Robin” – Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.

  • July 12 – “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” – Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.

  • July 26 – “Incredibles 2” – Frontier Sports Complex, east side, 3415 Book Rd.

  • August 9 – “Ant-Man and the Wasp” – Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.
