EXQUISITE ASIAN CUISINE It was love at first sight walking up to Mora Asian Kitchen in Bolingbrook’s Promenade. The dreamy outdoor seating area is ideal for alfresco dining and just what we were in the mood for. The breeze blew the white cotton curtains while the fluffy pillows invited you to kick back and stay awhile. The greenery and neutral colors created a peaceful elegance. It was the perfect start to what would be an unforgettable Asian tapas dining experience.
Jason Morales joined us, sharing his story and passion to create. Wanting an office and design space highlighting his company MEP Construction, he bought a building in Plainfield and invited clients over for dinners. With so many people walking down the street wondering what was going on inside and all of the satisfied customers, he decided to open Mora Asian Fusion. Morales the expert in Restaurant design function and purpose, partnered with his sister whose background was restaurant management/ownership. With help from their younger brother’s dynamic menu, this partnership was about to bring city dining culture to the suburbs. Last February, Mora of Bolingbrook opened and has been wowing foodies ever since. Like the upside down oak tree that greets you from the ceiling, this dining experience is like no other. The gathering space is gorgeous inside and out, with each dish crafted to tantalize every taste bud. Sweet, savory, delectable, and rich– yet, light in each bite. Each sushi roll has a creative flair while the Brussel sprout/Kale salad balances bitter, sweet and tangy to make a delightful start to any meal. The orange chicken skewers are expertly prepared with a crunchy orange glaze. The texture was right on and the orange wasn’t overpowering. Another one of our many favorites was the Adobo Fried Rice, pan fried rice with braised pork belly and crispy egg, truly a comfort food. The Pancit had a combination of pork, shrimp, carrots, Napa cabbage, bok choy and egg noodles. This Filipino dish is popular and literally means convenient food. We recommend pairing these dishes with a Japanese Craft beer or Premium sake. Delectable from start to finish, we ended with the Blueberry cheesecake and sparkling blueberry sake. This August Mora is scheduled to open in Oak Park’s Art district. Whichever Mora you stop by, it is truly a foodie haven!
