CARING + SHARING | Hinsdale Humane Society Pet Walk Returns with Judy Hsu

SUNDAY, JUNE 3 WILL CELEBRATE 65 YEARS IN THE COMMUNITY

Hinsdale Humane Society’s dog and stroller-friendly certified 5K Race promises family fun, fitness and lots of furry friends, while helping homeless animals

HINSDALE– Hinsdale Humane Society’s (HHS) Pet Walk & Run fundraiser returns Sunday, June 3 from 8-11am at Katherine Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale. This year, as HHS approaches the 65 year mark of serving the community, event participants will enjoy a certified 5K run through scenic Hinsdale neighborhoods, with activities after the race for all attendees.

The run and walk begins and ends in Katherine Legge Park. After the 5K, attendees can enjoy the Kids Dash complete with activities like a slime table and face painting, in addition to a DJ, giant bubbles, frisbee dogs, food and local vendors with giveaways and items for sale.

Registration for the event is at www.hinsdalehumanesociety.org under the News and Events section. Registration fee is $40 per adult runner and $50 day of, $25 per walker (walkers are not timed), $25 for child runners under 9 years old and $10 for the Kids Dash that includes a hero cape. Festival attendees who would like a shirt pay $25. Shirt availability cannot be guaranteed for registrations received after May 21.

For runners and walkers, race packet pick-up takes place at Midtown Athletic Club, 215 63rd St in WIllowbrook on Friday, June 1 from 6-8pm and Saturday, June 2 from 9-noon. Race day registration is from 7-7:30, warm-up is at 7:45, the race begins at 8am, Kids Dash at 9:30 and Awards are presented to top finishers in each age bracket at 9:45am by returning M.C. Judy Hsu from ABC-7.

The event’s Virtual 5K allows those who don’t want to run, or who may not be able to attend, to help the cause by generating pledges on social media. Visit http:bit.ly/HHSPetWalk to sign up and help further the mission of HHS.
