WINE AND CRAFT BEER TASTING EVENT RAISES MORE THAN $90,000 TO BENEFIT RONALD MCDONALD FAMILY ROOM® IN EDWARD HOSPITAL FOR FAMILIES OF PEDIATRIC CANCER
Ronald McDonald Family Room in Edward Hospital hosted its annual fundraiser, Uncork Your Support, on March 8 at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville. This year’s sold out event was the most successful to date, raising more than $90,000.
More than doubling the funds raised since the event began in 2012, this year’s event raised funds equivalent to 1,058 nights of care, comfort and compassion for families of hospitalized children using the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Edward Hospital.
“We are so thankful for the continued support of the community, both in Naperville and the surrounding towns,” says Brittany Rhyne, manager of Ronald McDonald Family Room in Edward Hospital. “It is through their support that we can raise the critical funds needed to keep families with sick children together.
Opened in 2012, the Ronald McDonald Family Room, located within the Pediatric Unit of the hospital, provides families with a comforting environment to rest, eat and regroup just steps away from their child’s hospital room. The Family Room has served more than 6,500 families since opening.
‘Uncork Your Support’ featured a diverse selection of wines from around the world, with tastings from Terlato Wines International and SixtyFour – A Wine Bar. In addition, the event again featured craft beer tastings provided by Naperville-based Solemn Oath Brewery.
