ARTS + ENTERTAINMENT | 15th Annual Summer Concert Series at Geneva Commons

The 15th annual Summer Concert Series at Geneva Commons kicks off on Sunday, June 4, with the wildly popular Hi Infidelity rock band. The free outdoor concerts will continue through June 28 in the lifestyle shopping center’s courtyard between Houlihan’s and Bar Louie. Due to the popularity of the concert series, a third weekly concert was added this year, with Sunday concerts beginning at 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday night concerts beginning at 6:30 p.m. Concertgoers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

The 2017 summer concert schedule, weather permitting, is as follows:

Sun., June 4 • Hi Infidelity (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Rock hits from the 80s and today, covering Journey, Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Buckcherry, Daughtry, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5.

Wed., June 7 • Majors Junction (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) Country honky-tonk blues with folk undertones and hints of bluegrass pickin’ and rock ‘n’ roll.

Fri,, June 9 • Neverly Brothers (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) High energy stage performers offering a musical guided tour of rock history from 50s favorites through the 60s British invasion.

Sun., June 11 • HillBilly Rockstarz (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Chicago’s own country super group, performing the latest country music hits and classic favorites.

Wed., June 14 • Geneva Jazz Ensemble (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) An 18-piece jazz orchestra in the big band tradition.

Fri., June 16 • Ear Candy (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) Energetic renditions of dance, rock and pop music from the 70s to today.

Sun., June 18 • Semple (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) Fronted by Keith Semple, this dynamic group performs everything from 70s rock to modern pop.

Wed., June 21 • Wild Daisy (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) Female-fronted country band that plays current, upbeat country and a little pop/rock too.

Fri., June 23 • Davenport Project (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) Covering a wide range of eras and genres, from 50s and 60s rock to 80s hair metal to contemporary country and everything in between

Sun., June 25 • 7th Heaven (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Back by popular demand, this rock band has three #1 Hit Songs on the Billboard Chart.

Wed., June 28 • Recycle the Day (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) Danceable music from Motown to today’s dance hits.

Other doings…

Restaurant Discounts

Many of the eateries at Geneva Commons are offering special discounts during the concerts, including Bar Louie, California Pizza Kitchen, Claddagh Irish Pub, Corner Bakery Café, Houlihan's, Jamba Juice, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Yogen Früz. Coupons will be available onsite during the concerts, as well as at the Mall Office, located near H&M. Mall Office hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Sidewalk Sale

The annual Sizzlin’ Summer Sidewalk Sale will take place on the last weekend of the concert series, Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25, with special sales both on the sidewalks and inside many Geneva Commons stores.

Dance Parties

Fitness instructors from Northwestern Medicine’s Delnor Health & Fitness Center will offer dance parties at Geneva Commons during the month of June. Dates and times are to be determined. Please check the Geneva Commons website or Facebook page for updates. An optional donation of $5 per class is suggested, with proceeds going to a local child advocacy non-profit.
