FOX VALLEY WINERY IN OSWEGO
Get ready to experience truly unique, fine wines right here in Illinois. Whether you prefer red, white, dry or sweet, you’re sure to find the perfect wine for your palate at this west suburban wine favorite. There’s no off-season at their beautiful and inviting tasting room and winery and they welcome guests to their daily tastings where you can browse their wide selection of wines. While you are tasting, take time to admire the work of many local artists – they feature wood carvings, hand painted glass items, pottery, paintings, wine bottle lamps, and artisan cheeses, just to name a few. Spend some time in front of the cozy fireplace or out on their spacious brick patio, depending on the weather, and relax with friends as you enjoy a glass of wine and delicious artisan cheeses. Tours of the winemaking facility are offered on weekdays, as well as weekends for a fee and by appointment only. A fun experience for wine lovers, indeed!
The Fox Valley wine tradition begins at the Faltz Family Vineyard and farm near Sheridan, Illinois. Vines were first planted in March of 2000, and they now have more than 25 acres of vines situated on the south-facing rocky ledges of the Fox River Valley. Producing the grapes that will become their award winning wines is hard work. The Faltz family, friends, and employees all work together to coax the crop through the long growing season, check for proper chemistry, harvest the grapes when they are ripe, create delicious wines, and finally serve as your hosts in the winery tasting room. Plan a day to visit and enjoy the fruits of their labor!
