Jill Foucré, a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn, realized her lifelong dream to combine her family heritage, her love of cooking and entertaining, and her highly successful business skills into a retail and cooking school destination.
Named after Jill’s grandfather, a French chef and restaurateur (pictured above 3rd from the left and below with her grandmother at their cafe), Marcel’s is a gathering place to cook, create and celebrate. A welcoming state-of-the-art kitchen offers over 200 classes annually for cooks of all ages and skill levels; it is a place to learn, watch, meet new people and old friends – a place to pull up a chair, gather around the table and discover fabulous food adventures. Company parties, family celebrations and girl’s nights out are all fabulous occasions to experience the magic of the Marcel’s kitchen. The Marcel’s team crafts the menu, libations and special touches to make the event uniquely yours.
Stocked with fine cookware and hardworking professional tools, exquisite table wares, specialty foods, and one-of-a-find items, Marcel’s caters to all of your culinary wishes. The Market is the latest addition to Marcel’s: fine cheeses, charcuterie, freshly baked breads and select wines await for effortless entertaining and lunches on the go.
Open since September 2011 at 490 North Main Street, Marcel’s has already garnered several awards including 2014 U.S. Kitchenware Retailer of the Year, and received international recognition as the recipient of the U.S. Global Innovator Award.
